In order to further increase the attractiveness of the outdoor pool, the Bäderverein, in cooperation with the town of Kevelaer, has significantly increased the number of events.
After last year's successful premiere, the big pool party is back on Sunday, August 18. The collaboration with the Lower Rhine Museum will also continue in 2024: Museum educator Indra Peters will be offering a workshop from the "Museum goes to Freibad" series for our young pool guests every Thursday from 2 p.m. during the summer vacations.
The evening swim has become a magnet for visitors. This year, the technicians at the Konzert- und Bühnenhaus have prepared an impressive light show for the first time. The date will be announced shortly. The last open-air event in the outdoor pool is the dog swim on September 22, 2024.
"Fully booked" is our flea market on April 28, 2024 in the parking lot of the indoor pool.
However, organizer Hans-Gerd Joosten is already pointing out that the
next flea market will take place on Sunday, May 25, 2025. Members of the Bäderverein can register "exclusively" for this flea market from January 2 to 31, 2025 with Hans-Gerd-Joosten (Tel. 02832/70397) for a maximum of two places.
With the support of Sparkasse Rhein-Maas, the pool association was able to purchase U3 play equipment for the youngest bathers. And the little ones can have special fun in the newly designed water play area.
Rainy weather has been a constant companion for our volunteer team over the past six months. Despite this, it was still possible to replace more of the liner in the non-swimmers' pool. The members of this team - all of whom are already of retirement age - will no longer be able to carry out their voluntary work to the same extent in the foreseeable future for reasons of age. However, the pool association will continue to work to maintain the outdoor pool. Necessary renovation work will then have to be outsourced to companies
At the last general meeting, the Executive Board was therefore instructed to consider a moderate increase in membership fees.
Are you missing membership cards for your children who turned 16 last year? According to our statutes, children and young people aged 16 and over are no longer eligible for the family membership fee. If you are still interested in becoming a member, these young people must register again.
In the period from May 4 to July 20, 2024 (except for the funfair Saturday, May 11), board members and volunteer members of the pool association will be available in person every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the outdoor pool. Our board members Edeltraud and Dieter Möllerke will be happy to answer any further questions about membership on 02832/5223.

dear members,
seit einem Vierteljahrhundert setzt sich der Bäderverein schon für den Erhalt der Bäderlandschaft in Kevelaer ein. Besonders die Sanierung des bald 94 Jahre alten Freibades ist ein Hauptanliegen des Vereins. Das ist nur möglich, weil ein ehrenamtliches Technik-Team Jahr für Jahr außerhalb der Freibadsaison notwendige Sanierungsarbeiten durchführt. In den letzten Monaten wurden etwa im Nichtschwimmer-Becken die Folien an den Außenwänden erneuert.
Unsere knapp 3.000 Mitglieder sorgen aber auch mit ihren Mitgliedsbeiträgen dafür, dass viele weitere Maßnahmen durchgeführt werden können. U.a. für die Sanierung des Sanitärgebäudes, für die Beschaffung von Filtermaterial oder für die Markisen im Eingangsbereich wurden im vergangenen Jahr 219.000 Euro ausgegeben.
Weil das Thema Energieeinsparung immer wichtiger wird, finanziert der Bäderverein u.a. in diesem Jahr eine Photovoltaikanlage, die bereits auf dem Dach des Technik-Gebäudes installiert wurde.
Außerhalb des Freibades gibt es noch diese Nachricht: “Ausgebucht” ist unser Trödelmarkt am 14. Mai 2023 auf dem Parkplatz des Hallenbades.

Januar 2024 bei Hans-Gerd-Joosten (Tel. 02832/70397) für maximal zwei Plätze anmelden. Ab dem 1. Februar 2024 werden die Standplätze auch an Nicht-Mitglieder vergeben.
